The Man Trap

Season 1, Episode 1

Kirk, McCoy and Crewman Darnell visit planet M-113 in order to carry out routine medical inspections of Professor Crater and his wife, Nancy (an old flame of McCoy). Nancy appears to him as she did when they first knew each other, an old lady to Kirk, and an attractive young blonde to Darnell.

It soon transpires that a shape-shifting creature has stolen the identity of Nancy in order to satisfy an overwhelming addiction to salt.

So, here’s the plan

After having my interest in Star Trek thoroughly reignited last night following my viewing of ‘Into Darkness’, I am about to embark on the challenge of watching every episode of the entire series, all the way from The Original Series right up to Enterprise, and review each one on this blog.

I remember finding myself fascinated by The Next Generation in the early to mid-90s, making a point of ensuring I was at home to watch whichever episode BBC 2 felt like airing in their somewhat haphazard broadcast schedule. Voyager and Deep Space Nine, I never really got into and overall left the interest behind when I hit the mid-teens.

So, first up, it’s Season 1, Episode 1: ‘The Man Trap’.
